I am pres of a fundraising club that has raised about $12,000 for a cause I’m passionate about and it’s something I’m very proud of. Im not sure if I should report the $12000 on my common app, because the fundraising has occurred over several years and through many different channels and I think it would be pretty much impossible to prove the amount that I raised if it were questioned by college adcoms. $12,000 is also just an estimate since I don’t know the exact number, but I’m confident it’s in the near ballpark. I know that ecs are often confirmed by rec letters, and one of my rec letters does mention the $12,000 I’ve raised, but I don’t know if that’s enough for confirmation for schools. Should I just leave out that information on my common app then? All suggestions are appreciated.
Leave it out of your essay [you could just say “a substantial amount” or “lots of money”] and let the rec letter fill in the blank.
Oh, I’m not mentioning it in my essay, I wanted to add it into the description of that extra curricular in the “Activities” section. But that’s a good suggestion, thanks.

Since it is on a LOR it should be fine to mention if you are confident that number is in the right range. If you prefer, you can always phrase it as either: “approximately $12,000”, “over $10,000” or (as noted above) “a substantial sum”.
