No major awards. No officer position in clubs. I am a leader for the youth in my church.
I am primarily a math/science person, but also love books, writing, and history. I want to volunteer at the library and hospital.
My dream is Stanford. I’m considering MIT. I know I have a slim chance. Any ideas for ECs that will be eye catching?
No one EC that you start now is going to be ‘eye-catching’ for admissions. Most people in fact get in Stanford and MIT with ordinary EC’s, but they are all very committed to them and exceed the boundaries of their indicated interest.
I suggest you do something with Piano (start a club, win a competition, play for elders, play for fundraising purposes etc.) as that is what you have been doing for the longest time.
Yeah piano competitions/ nonprofit org wouldn’t be bad. However, don’t count on MIT or stanford too much since some people have been trying since they were like 2. You probably have a chance tho
