Econ 101

For econ 101, it just says that I need to buy a book called "Principles of Economics". Hmm... there are A LOT of books called that. Could someone please tell me the author and edition of the book we need for econ 101? Thanks so much.

If you’re taking it with Byrns you probably just need his book.

my teacher turns out to me Salemi, same book?

Just look up the ISBN at Student Stores and search for ISBN.

I’m pretty sure all Econ101 classes use the same book (Bryns’ book).

…Do you want my Byrns’ book? I’ll sell it to you.

I’m actually considering it, what year is the book published?

student central also says I need a CPS code card, what exactly is that? Also I found a book called principles of economics by Vincent Byrnes published in 1996, is that the book?

No, the guy who wrote it is Ralph Byrns, who also teaches there.

I love Byrns. I have two econ books from my freshman year that I’m actually trying to sell, glad to know that they’re still used.

I’m taking Salemi’s class this fall, as well. Anyone want to sell me their book? :)

ugh…Salemi was not my favorite, but then again I dislike Econ…when I took him, his book was different from Byrns’

Also, his class is probably full of sophomores and upperclassmen but if you can take McCallie for Econ101- it’s A LOT easier!

Byrns is the man and you should try to get into his class. Unless you’re the type that needs the teacher to go over everything.

I switched from Aguilar to Salemi. Hopefully I don’t kick myself in the butt :(

Take Byrns, I never went to class except on quiz day, got 60’s on two of the exams, but got an 85 on the final. And with extra credit got an A in the class. He had my final count as my other 2 exams. Great guy as well.

Aguilar is tough, but fair and probably the smartest econ prof. around in my opinion.

havent had byrnes, but heard hes pretty good.

I had Balaban, she was by far the best econ professor…I dunno if she still teaches 101 though. If you get a chance, do take Balaban.

Aguilar is great if u are thinking about being an econ major…but he is intense… so don’t take it with him if ur not at all interested. I had him for macroeconomics (for non-majors) and it was tough as hell, I can only imagine what its like when he teaches classes for econ majors.
