Econ at USC

So I got accepted to CLAS for Economics, instead of my first choice of Business at Marshall.
Is it worth doing economics at USC, and shell out the heavy price tag or do business at a lower ranked but decent university, say UIUC or BU?

Is the economics department strong? or is it the same as anywhere else and it would not make sense to spend all that money just for econ at usc?

i would like to know this too. bump!

USC - Eco is good

but UCLA Econ is better. (they don’t have a Business program)

Hey thisismyhandle,

For many of my friends that did not get into Marshall they simply applied their sophomore year after taking these courses:
Econ 203
Econ 205
Math 118
Writ 140

If you get around a 3.5 in those classes you can easily transfer into Marshall. I can give you hints on what teachers to take for these classes so that a 3.5 will be extremely doable. I wouldnt let the fact that you didnt get into Marshall the first time around negatively affect your decision to attend USC.
