econ major transfer (cornell, Dartmouth/Upenn?)

Hi! I am currently a freshmen in USC, and thinking about transfering to Econ major in Cornell, Dartmouth or UPenn......the problem is, I haven't taken Macroeconomics yet, and I was planning on doing that during the summer because the professor totally sucks! But, I just realized that some schools does not allow transfering unless i have completed all the required class......is there still hope for me to transfer without having taken Macro in Freshmen level? also, is it impossible to get in these schools after freshmen year?? Thank you so much for your help guys!!!

Of course. I too am at USC and am applying to all of the above schools, though am a sophomore. I would check with each school and determine their respective requirements. It's also a trifle late to be thinking of transferring, though if you move quickly it can be done I suppose.

thx.....so....would you recommend me doing that next year?isn't it harder to apply as sophomore?

It depends on how strong a candidate you are now. If your high school record (i.e. GPA and SAT/ACT) is of Ivy League caliber and you are satisfied with your USC GPA, then apply now. If it is not, then wait a year when it will not be as heavily weighted in the admissions process.

What major are you transferring for trojan? Why do you want to leave USC...or Why do both of you want to leave USC?

I would be transferring as a music major. USC has a great music school, but the theory program here is weak and none of the conducting professors here have the desire to teach undergraduates. The Ivy League, while deficient surely in instrumental brilliance, is known for strong academic music programs.
