ECON Major: UCLA Applied Economics vs UCL MSc Economics ???

I had struggled with this selection for over two weeks, but still have no idea yet……
Wonder which program has better prestige in financial institutions, have no plan for Ph.D.
Thanks for the suggestion:)

What is “UCL” ? University College in London ?

Are you comparing a bachelors with a masters? Or is the UCLA option also a masters? Unclear from your title. Are you American or international?

Either of your choices would offer you proximity to accomplished faculty: https://ideas.repec.org/top/top.econdept.html.

Yes, University College in London, these are both master programs.

Yes, University College in London, these are both master programs.

Really depends on your citizenship/permanent residency/passports.

Basically, where can you work?

And the nationality question? It matters somewhat for where you can work, which name will be more recognized.

Actually, I do not have a specific preference for location, and I am not a citizen of either US or UK.
I care more about the local prestige of these programs.

Thanks for the reply:) I graduated from UCSD and applying both of them as an international student. LA and London are equally great cities for me. I actually have no thoughts about locations and also the cost of the program, only local prestige matters.

Well, where would you want to try to work?

Why do you care about local prestige?

UCL would be almost unknown in the US. UCL far better known in the UK.
