<p>I use Mankiw at my school. It’s an easy read and gives good examples, but I’m not sure if it explains some concepts all that well.</p>
<p>mankiw. I used the McConnell and it prepared me for about 80% of the exam or so, but I had to buy an AP review book and learn some new concepts (pretty easy though, I did absurdly well on that AP test).</p>
<p>The thing is that Mankiw is actually a member of the AP Committee that makes the AP, so I’m sure he intentionally influences the exam to make it conform to his book (or perhaps vice versa, too). So go with that one.</p>
