Hi

I am an econ transfer and for next semester, I am trying to enroll in classes but I am waitlisted for 2 of my upper division econ electives. Can someone tell me why? Thanks

Unless you declared in the summer, then yes, you should be waitlisted because your application hasn’t gone through (they are still waiting for this term’s grades to determine your acceptances to the econ major). They will manually move you into the class if you get accepted and there are space (there are usually lots of space in upper div econ minus for the 100/101 series, 140/141, 110, and possibly 134).

Transfer students have their telebears later than junior students here. Usually the open seating in econ classes gets full really quickly, and there are more seats saved for econ major. And since you are undeclared, you can only be waitlisted until someone in open seating drop the class or you are declared then you will be moved into the class.

I have on question regarding to the waiting list for upper division courses in Psychology, business and Econ:
Does the priority go with this sequence?

Major (they put all non-major on the wait list) > senior/junior (I will be Senior standing next Fall- Shall i need to worry about phase 1 waiting list as I assume phase 2 senior standing will beat them ) > sophomore> Freshman

I have a little confusion about the effect of seniority on talebearer wait-list priority.

In the course listing in [Home Page - Online Schedule Of Classes](http://schedule.berkeley.edu) , there will be a link that says “Click here for current enrollment information and course restrictions.” Click it to find out what buckets of reserved seating exist, and whether any bucket is open or full. For example, the one for Economics 101A says:

Meanwhile, Economics 104 has different restrictions:

Economics C175 has different restrictions again:

what does that mean by “a class level of limited status”?

“Students with a registration status of New or New and a class level of Junior”-
what this means? Does it mean the seat is open for non-major at class of Junior level (i hope ) or refer to transfer Psychology Junior?

Psychology 160 P 001 LEC:

course restrictions

This course has no restrictions at the coursewide level.
Seats have been reserved for:
Instructor approval; a Class Entry Code is required to enroll in these seats (Open).
Students with a major of PSYCHOLOGY and a class level of Senior or Junior or Sophomore (Open).
Students with a registration status of New or New and a class level of Junior (Open).
Open seating (Full).

Limited status is described here:

[General Catalog - Undergraduate Education - Applying for Admission](http://catalog.berkeley.edu/undergrad/admission.html#limited)
[College of Chemistry - University of California at Berkeley - Limited Status Admission](http://chemistry.berkeley.edu/student_info/undergrad_info/prospective_undergrad/admission/limited_status.php)

“Registration status of New” presumably means a first semester student. “New and a class level of Junior” presumably means a first semester transfer student.

In the following Psy 160 course case, all non-major will be put into wait list now (no more open seat). Does junior/senior standing have a higher priority than others (sophomore/freshman) or just the first come first serve on the wait list? Thanks.
