Chances of getting into upper div econ class?

So i am still number 2 on the waitlist for two upper div econ class. i was originally 10 and 5, and finally moved down slowley but i have been at 2 for a very long time. there is still a lot of other people waitlisted in the class, like 20-30 for each section. and this is a pretty critical course too, 100A and 120, for econ majors. do i stand a chance of getting into the class? or they gonna let people in or open new classes? plus its in the cog sci classroom, which i heard is small therefore unlikely to add more. if they do add a complete different class, they tell us by email, right, and approximately when?

thanks in advance

If you're waitlisted for the fall, you'll more than likely get into the classes. There's plenty of time for people to drop before term starts. If you don't get in before classes start, don't worry. People drop during the first weeks of the quarter; spaces will open up.

I wouldn't sweat it

You'll most likely get in

When I took 100A, there were so many students that they sat on the stairs. After the first midterm, the lectures really cleared out. You'll get in.

I am a transfer student and I need to finish the 10/20C calc class. Do I have a better chance of enrolling in upper division econ classes as a continuing student as opposed to a incoming transfer student?

I don't know, i am just kinda scared b/c i haven't moved for a long time(still at 2) and see no reason for others to drop the class since grades are already out and the only time left is when they hate the class, which i doubt since it is an important econ course for econ majors. its kinda scary that i will just have 2 classes in fall for certain then. plus i have to buy airline tickets for december and i dont know if i should buy tickets that fit the class i am waitlisted for, and i need to buy it soon cuz prices are going up.

If you're really so itchy about it, console yourself that both ECON 100A and 120A are offered Winter and Spring quarters as well. You can drop them now, sign up for other stuff and wait a quarter to take them.

i know i am getting too worked up about it, it's just that these courses should be taken in sequence, and if it does't work out, i'll be taking like 100C and 120C in fall and then that will push everything else forward. i don't know, i guess i shouldn't really worry that much.

don't people usually just decide they're lazy or dislike the professor and then drop? people usually sign up for more classes at first right...? plus, second summer session is starting up soon, so if they drop the prereqs for that class, they can't take it in the fall...so theyll drop that class too.
