UMBC's economics department offers a financial economics major in addition to a traditional economics major. It also seems to offer a lot of accounting and finance courses that would normally be taught out of a business school (which UMBC does not have). Can any current or former UMBC students or faculty comment on the popularity of these offerings? Are they well received in the job market? Do students transfer to universities with business majors or go on to get masters degrees in business related fields?

I am interested in knowing this, too.
