I'm a big fan of The Economist and have started to develop an interest in international relations. Is dual degrees in econ and international studies be a good way to go?

Why not just major/minor?

Yeah...I'm majoring and minoring in both next year. They really shape into each other well.

ive heard from college buddies that intro to econ is very hard and very boring... ive been told it falls under the avoid if you can/take only if u must category (kinda like organic chem)

I sat through an intro econ course in April at CMU and I could understand most of what was being said - didn't seem too hard.

I just finished HL IB Econ in high school and I liked it. However, thats just my opinion, many may find it boring. Heh, I won't find out if its boring in college though (assuming I get more than a 6)

By the way.. I found that something that makes the concepts more interesting is applying them to real world situations. (This was obligatory through commentaries on news articles)

I can't imagine intro to economics being that hard, although I could understand it being a little bit boring.

I just realized that I'm gonna have to take intro to Econ although I've already had 3 years of economics, just because I didn't take the HL test.

A program that you might find interesting is the HUntsman Program in Business and International Studies, at UPenn...
CHeck it out at www.upenn.edu/huntsman

Look into the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown. They have a highly focused curriculum and an International Economics major. I recommend it highly!
