Economics and Psychology double major?

Is this a good route to take? They are definitely my biggest interests and I would be able to do this in just 4 years! I know Marketing is an integration of the two, but I'd rather have a job that doesn't manipulate people into purchasing my product, even if I know it's not the best for them.

Would these paths be available after graduation?

Entry-Level Management or HR
Grad School in Counseling
Grad School in Economics
Grad School in Industrial-Organizational Psychology
Grad School in Behavioral Economics
Grad School in Social Studies Education
Any other studies or careers available?

Would something more specific help though? i.e. Psych major + Stats minor + Management minor... on an application for I/O Psycholgy?

I’m at UF and thinking about a dual major in psych and food and resource econ, basically because I’m interested in the two but don’t really know which path to take (like major and minor vs. dual)

Experimental economics, which blends economics and psychology, is increasing in popularity. If you want to go to grad school for econ though make sure you take enough math.

Experimental psychology = behavioral psychology, for all intents and purposes, I believe.

^^^ I wish that was the case…experimental psychology in most places these days is cognitive and brain science and has been for a number of years.

There is a great potential relevance of behavioral economics to Experimental & Applied Behavior Analysis, which is the field in which you’ll find most of the behavioral psychology. See, for example, this issue of the Journal of Applied Behavior analysis:[Special Series on Behavioral Economics in Applied Behavior Analysis](http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=2078568)
J Appl Behav Anal. 2007 Winter; 40(4): 602 (full-text free online at PubMed). A growing subfield of Applied Behavior Analysis is Organization Behavior Management. See for example, the journal of Organization Behavior Management: [Journal of Organizational Behavior Management (JOBM)](http://www.obmnetwork.com/academic/jobm/)

For an example of a large OBM consulting firm, see the website of Aubrey Daniels International:

So, another option to consider is Grad School in Experimental or Applied Behavior Analysis. See the Association for Behavior Analysis International website for their graduate training directory:
