I have a question to anyone who is currently an economics major here at UMD concerning the level of calculus needed.

So basically I'm a rising sophomore finance major and I'm incredibly interested in adding an econ double major because I really have enjoyed all my econ courses dating back to high school. The only problem I'm having is that I took MATH220 and EASILY got an A+, but
I know that UMD recommends that students going into economics should take MATH140 rather than MATH220. I just don't want to be overwhelmed with the calculus workload within the upper level econ courses and I'd rather not have to go back and take another calc 1 level course.

How much of a difference will it be if I major in economics with a MATH220 background rather than 140?

Thanks.
