Right now I am a student at University of Texas with a double major in Public Relations and Advertising but I have realized that Texas is not the right place for me and my majors aren't ideal either. I would like to move back to the Northeast, where I'm from, and I don't really know what to major in. I have been hearing a lot about Economics degrees being good. I have always been pretty interested in Economics and from what I've read it seems to be a good degree to get. I had a 3.5 GPA in High School with a 2170 on the SAT's and a 34 on the ACT's so I know I can handle the degree with ease. All I am looking for is some guidance from someone that knows a lot more about it than myself. Is this degree worth it or is everything I read just bs?

If you want to work in the finance/business department economics is a good gateway degree. You will still need to compliment it with internships and work experience before you can get a decent job but it is a good start.
