I'm going to attend MIT in the fall as an entering freshman, and I'm very much interested in i banking. Which major would essentially look better or at least give me a better preparation, Economics or Management Science? Also, how big is recruiting at MIT compared to other schools? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure both majors would make you competitive.

As far as being a target goes, MIT is definitely a first tier target. If you do well in school GPA wise and get involved there is no reason whatsoever you shouldn’t be landing interviews.

thanks for the response. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Econ will give you a definite edge if you can keep the same gpa. Not sure how difficult management science is.

^Management Science is the business program at Sloan for undergrads, btw.

Economics at MIT is very impressive on your resume.

Much more quant content than business or finance, and also more analytical than a business program.

Yeah M.I.T. along with UChicago is consistantly rated number 1 for Economics… It undoubtly is excellent

Economics if the recruiting is equal.
