Economics vs CS at JMU

Hello everyone. I've been accepted into James Madison University as "undecided" on my major, and I'm likely to attend there this fall. I've pretty much narrowed my major down to Economics and Computer Science. I plan on minoring in something (if I major in CS, I'd probably minor in computer engineering, and if I major in Economics, I'd probably minor in CS).

I'm interested in both topics of study. JMU is known for their business school, and I'm sure receiving an economics degree from their prestigious College of Business would present many opportunities. But I'm also interested in computer science, and I know it's one of the best majors you could possibly get. JMU isn't as well known for science and technology, but they've been getting better with the new part of campus.

So I'd like to know, in my situation, which major would present itself with the best opportunities for me in the future (available jobs, salary, graduate school, etc)? Thanks for hearing me out everyone, I appreciate the help!

Peace.

To “do” economics you need a PhD too.
