I plan on declaring econ but I took econ p/np my first semester and I planned on taking it again for a letter grade, Spring 10. I was told that this wasn't necessary because the department can look up my letter grade for the class--I passed it. Can anyone affirm this? will my passed grade be replaced by a letter grade on my transcipt? any advice would be gladly appreciated

Talk to Jenny Cornet about it; not so sure if retaking is a great idea…you can request to show your real grade for the econ 1 class you already took. but they won’t change your p/np to a letter grade. that’s another department’s job and your chances of changing it are really minimal.

would you happen to know if can I still declare the major since econ 1 should be taken for a letter grade or would the advisors bypass this somehow? thanks for your help
