Wow...terrible news so far.
Can't believe that 75-basis point cut at an UNSCHEDULED meeting...
frankly i was really surprised...no actually i was shocked.
T>T i fear for America....
I think we're gonna go shwompt into a recession
BTW, is neone gonna do fed-challenge this year???
I have a few questions if you don't mind...

Dude you're so late

I might be doing fed challenge

i thought the surprise cut thing was a good thing?

Woswill, ****. Maybe if you weren't so mired in your own ignorance you'd realize how serious this could get.

Yeah, the near-future is looking a little dicey. If we can end this war then there will most likely HAVE to be a recession but perhpas it cna be minimized.

1.) yes i know this happened last week...
just opening the discussion that way :D

Btw, how many pts. do you think the fed might cut this week???
my guess - 50 pts?
or is that too much?

Eh, I don't care. Michigan's already in a recession, and will probably remain so for the next couple decades. I've stopped caring.

I love how everyone over dramaticizes the state of the economy as if the sky is falling. It goes in a seemingly continuous cycle; nothing new here

I would have to agree. The economy does go in cycles, and there will be recessions. But Michigan has been in a recession for some time now, and will likely continue to be in one for eternity, based on optimistic estimates. I blame Engler.

On the other hand, there are a seemingly infinite amount of people on whom the possible nationwide recession can be blamed.

Ohio's also been in a recession for the past several years. It's really bad in the rural areas where the factories have closed, but there are no good service jobs to cover for the loss. Unemployment rates aren't necessarily high, but people have taken low-paying jobs just to make some money. The problem is that nobody wants to open a corporate office in Ohio. Nobody.
