ECs

So some people have told me that my ECs are a laundry list, while others have claimed them to be good. So are they good or just a laundry list?

I am very passionate about helping others overall, and fighting breast cancer for diagnosed patients is one of my major points in helping others. I want to get a Biology major so that I can pursue my passion of fighting breast cancer in the future. My hobby is soccer.

My activities of helping others in general:

-Founder of a non profit organization (501(c)(3)) that fights the poverty issue in my state (Fairly successful); I will write about how my personal poverty issue motivated me
to start a non profit to fight poverty
-Founder and leader of an organization with a goal to fight the education issue that goes around failing schools in my state and uses teaching materials from a website to educate the kids better (it is in supplement to what the teacher teaches).
-Volunteer at a non profit that improves global health
-Created an app in the App Store that raises awareness about many global issues
-Tutoring little disadvantaged kids at a church
-Amnesty International President
-Reading to toddlers at a library
-Kumon tutor (because family income is low)
-Key Club President (Community service club)

My activities for breast cancer more specifically:

-Did a science project on breast cancer (got Intel with it)
-Author in a publication
-Internship at breast cancer research lab 3 summers
-Founder and president of Breast Cancer club
-Summer camp on medicine
-Annual Breast Cancer Race volunteer
-Breast Cancer Non profit organization volunteer

I am also captain of the Quiz Bowl team, VP of Model UN, and played soccer 4 years club; 3 years for school. I attended a soccer camp one summer as well.

Oh and I’ll have 900 hours of community service by the time I send my college applications.

I’d say they’re good, you’re clearly really concerned with giving back to the community. It’s miles better than what I’ve got, but that is really only a minor accomplishment :D

It really depends. It is good, but is your schedule up to its level?

My schedule, as in my stats?

Apollo11 is asking if your schedule is rigorous…

Oh yes, I have taken the most rigorous course load.

By the time I graduate, I will have taken two Honors classes, 4 Pre-AP classes, and 12-13 AP classes.

You’re EC’s are really good, especially with your rigorous schedule. IF you can write a good essay (for common app or whatever) about your experiences in one of these activities, you have a pretty good chance at many colleges.
