Is this a good list of ECs?

I’m an aspiring sustainability major getting ready for college apps next year. Here is my current list of ECs

-Project that brings green education and sustainable agriculture to schools in my home country (Founder)

-Social Activism through social media and peaceful demonstrations

-Black Student Union (Officer)

-Democrat’s Club (Vice President)

-Science National Honors Society

-Varsity & Club Soccer at a very competitive level

-Track and Field sprinter

-Kayaking & Trail Biking

-Member of the National Conservancy, don’t really do much volunteering for them though.

-Awarded with a $10,000 scholarship to study Physics of Climate change and Statistical Analysis at CMU for 6weeks this summer

And I’m thinking about adding my “Personal Research” as an EC. I know it’s lame but I actually really like studying Big Data and Climate Change in developing regions. Also, should I join my schools Environmental Club? All they do is recycle after school…and I’m already a member of the National Conservancy

Suggestion are welcome!

Tbh, everyone on here always says this so I will continue the trend:
Your ECs are weak.

But I do like that your ECs are different from other people’s as you have a passion for social activism for green education/ research. I like that you have a focus. I would not include the research unless you won something or it was part of a research program. Unless you really want to but thats just my opinion.
I especially like the 10k scholarship! A lot of people attend to programs that drain your wallets and colleges are more looking for programs based on scholarships or they’re competitve to get in.

That’s a pretty sorry excuse for an attitude, penngirlpending. OP, if that’s what you like doing, then do it with all your heart. I could never have handled that many activities. They sound interesting and related to what you want to do in life.

They aren’t weak. But you haven’t fully described and in your app, you’ll need to offer more than a line called green education or another listed as social activism. Some picture needs to emerge. This isn’t all about “passions.” The right sorts of responsibilities and impact are important to the top colleges. (Eg, it;s not just founding, taking the program to schools, but what comes of that.) You have to think about what this adds up to. And, you should let us know the country, because opportunities are so different depending on where you are.

@lookingforward Thanks. The country is Nigeria. I do indeed plan on elaborating on each EC I list.
