I know some Japanese! Ive taught myself some basic words and phrases, and I took a class last year on the writing system. So far I can recognize some kanji, read and (mostly) write hiragana, but I struggle a bit with katakana because the majority of symbols look pretty similar to me. As for speaking it, I can say some words and phrases but cant quite keep up a spoken conversation (yet!) Im currently trying to improve my vocab and learn more kanji. Practicing Japanese with you sounds like fun! I have my computer set up so I can type Japanese and everything, so PM me, k? ^^

Did anyone get their BannerWeb ID and password yet? I haven’t received anything and was wondering if I should be worried, since decisions are coming out in 2 weeks (maybe 1).

@Kiyatora-- I applied ED (round one) and encountered the same problem. The email just didn’t go through for whatever reason. I had my college counselor call the admissions office and they were super nice about it. They resent the email and I received it the second time. I would suggest either you or your college counselor call admissions. Hope this helps :)

Because I’m reapplying, I already have an ID and PIN. I guess that’s why I didn’t receive anything this year. Unfortunately I no longer have the original email, but I managed to find my ID on an email I got this past week from the fin. aid office. Logged in without a problem after that so no worries! ^^

According to Smith’s Admissions Facebook page:
ED II notifications are released January 24th at 6PM EST
RD notifications are released March 22nd at unspecified time (I think it’s safe to assume 6PM ET for these ones, too?)

Hi, eelizabeth, welcome to the thread! 日本語を話しますですか?

I hope your interview went well! ^^ Are you transferring in as a junior or sophomore?

Also, I started a question game back on page 2 where those of us on this thread can get to know each other a bit better and (hopefully) distract ourselves a bit from the nerves that come with impending decisions
The questions are:
Hobbies?
Any pets or siblings?
Where you’re from?
Weird, interesting fact about yourself?
Where else are you applying, and when did you finish all your apps?
