I decided to create a thread for girls who applied for smith ED 2 and RD to talk about our application and stress about decisions together. The deadline for ED 2 was January 1. How are you guys feeling?

I LOVE SMITH!! Hoping to get in w/ a STRIDE but knowing I’m probably not… :P

when do they release their decision?I know, its too early to ask about it :p

I had my interview today, I’m in love. Almost done with the essays! I’m applying RD. Good luck to everyone!

I love smith too!! I applied ED 2. Anyone know when decisions come out for ED 2?

I am glad to see this thread. What is the reason for applying EDI vs. EDII?

I think some people apply ED 2, after they have been rejected from their ED 1 school. Personally, I visited the school in late October and didn’t realize that Smith was my first choice until just before the ED 1 deadline, so I decided to wait until ED 2.

Hi, I applied ED II to Smith! Smith is my top TOP choice in the whole world, but I was honestly wary of applying ED because I hate commitment Then I saw a chance me thread on the Smith forum and thought, “…maybe I should apply ED. THAT’S IT, I’M GOING TO DO IT!!!” lolz total impulse thing :D

I applied ED II because I had already missed the ED I deadline. (Also, it would be awful if I got rejected during Christmas time…)

How am I feeling? Excited! And stressed! And excited! But mainly just hyper at the moment!

On a more serious note, I guess you could say that I feel “tentatively optimistic.” I applied to Smith RD last year but was rejected (I’m currently taking a gap year). Due to my low GPA, I’m not sure how likely I am to get accepted this time around. Still, I worked really hard to polish up the other parts my application this year. So hard that it shines! No, it GLITTERS! (At least that’s how I hope admissions will see it, lol)

Good luck to everyone on this forum! Here’s to hoping we all get that thick envelope in the mail ;)

As far as ED II decisions, in past years they have come out late January/early February. Not sure what they’ll do this year.

Regular decisions usually arrive late in March. Good luck to all!

I just called the admission office,The ED2 decisions are coming out on the 18th January.

18th? That’s too soon! Oh, god, I’m freaking out.

The 18th. I didn’t think they were coming out that early either. Now, I’m starting to get nervous.

Hi everyone, sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but ED II decisions actually don’t come out until January 24th :(

According to Smith’s admissions Facebook page. And admissions when I called up to verify.

So about 2 1/2 weeks from now at 6PM EST.

That makes sense, January 18 sounds way too early.

…I’m still freaking out, though XD

Oh, I am so sorry for the wrong information…I might have heard wrong but I would still like to call them again and confirm.

January 24th?? Are you girls sure?

That’s what they said on Facebook:
“ED II admission decisions will be released on January 24.
ED IIl applicants may access their decision on banner web at (or after) 6:00 P.M (EST) on the 24th. Decision letters will also be mailed on January 24.”

I called them again…the lady clearly said 18th January is the date…

Huh, weird. I wonder which one’s the right one? Well, I’ll check both days, just in case.

Bah, I hate waiting. Let’s play a game to get to know each other and pass the time!
- Hobbies?
- Any pets or siblings?
- Where you’re from?
- Weird, interesting fact about yourself?
- Where else are you applying, and when did you finish all your apps?
- Intended major(s)?
- Favorite thing about Smith?
