Just wondering if anyone's heard yet about ED 2? It will be hard to wait until the end of March for RD!

Hi,
Son applied RD but hasn’t received any acknowledgement from Whitman or any password to check his application status on-line. Have any RD applicants received a password? Thanks!

I’m an ED II applicant as well, nothing yet. Nervous!

Sunmachine, so happy to hear that your son applied! Waiting is the pits, the January 15th deadline produces results a bit later than many of the other schools. From the admissions blog I just read it sounds like all the application pieces (test scores, LORs, transcripts, etc.) are being assembled into applicants’ folders by the office, and adcoms are busy reading the essays. Best wishes to you all.

Thanks, bopambo! Whitman was the only college he applied to RD. He’s excited about the Early Action schools he was accepted to, and wasn’t going to write any more essay applications for the RD round unless he really felt something for the school. Which makes perfect sense to me.

I remember from going through this with my older son two years ago that Whitman’s decisions came a little later than most schools. I also seem to remember that they are pretty good about letting you know if something’s missing from your file. Anyway, time will tell…

sunmachine, as you well know, there are many great LACs and your son has terrific options, congratulations.

Sunmachine, my D applied RD to Whitman. She did receive a letter confirming her app was complete. However, she applied in mid December as she wanted to not have to spend her break working on college applications, so she may have already received a letter because she applied before the rush. Also, D did not think she received an e-mail w/ log-on info, but it turned out when she went back and did a more thorough check that she had actually recevied the e-mail back in October (not sure if it was triggered by sending in test scores or the fact she had done an on-campus interview)… In October her e-mail in-box was being inudated w/ college related marketing e-mails, so she overlooked it until she did a specific search for anything from Whitman. Therefore, if your son had any type of interaction related to his application, he may want to check for an e-mail that came in around that time period.

My S applied RD too and just received a letter from Whitman saying that they have all of his stuff and will start reviewing his file. I am sure the long wait is going to be hard. He LOVES Whitman and I have my fingers crossed.

Anyone know how many Whitman accepted during the ED rounds? Thanks.

Nobody jumped in here so I just did a google search and US News ([Whitman College | Applying | Best College | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/whitman-college-3803/applying)) reports the ED acceptance rate was 80% in 2010. Might have gotten last year’s stats from them too but didn’t want to pay $30. Whitman itself hasn’t said so far, at least that I can find.
