So NU just emailed me saying that the only thing missing is my ED agreement. Does this mean that they haven't even begun to review my application? I feel like I am put at a disadvantage now because my counselor did not get the agreement in. Obviously the school isn't rolling, but I still feel like it is a disadvantage that it hasn't even been looked at by an admissions officer yet. Is there a chance that they have still started to read it even without the ED agreement in?

The ED agreement is something for you to do, as far as I know. It’s what you sign saying you promise that you will go to NU if you get excepted unless Financial Aid isn’t good enough.

It won’t mean anything, it’s not like they’re going to say “Oh, this person didn’t sign their ED agreement yet. They must suck as a human being, so we shouldn’t accept them.”

A counselor and parent must also sign this agreement. What worries me is that they have already begun reading other applications, while mine has been collecting dust in the back room. They only have a limited amount of spots, so if they have already made up their minds about some of the applicants before me, I could be put at a large disadvantage.

ED Apps due by11/1 - delayed even because of Sandy, and decisions aren’t due out until @ 12/15, so take a deep breath and relax. You are either going to make it in, or not - and life will go on either way.

Get it signed, get it in and go outside an play.

Do not spend any time fretting over this. It won’t affect your chances.

Thanks everyone!
