Really confused about something. My son has 2 top choice schools and both are a bit of a reach (but not by much). Both colleges have early decision 1 and 2. College A has early action due 11/15 and you will find out by 12/22. College B has no early action but has an early decision 2 which has a deadline of January 1st and you hear mid February. He really can't decide on either but feels he should do early decision 2 to College B because by the time they get around to looking at it he will have heard from College A (literally 1 week earlier). I suppose he could wait and not apply to College B until he hears but for one thing we will be out of the country then and also we both need to just hit submit on these applications and be done with this part. My question is... can we change College B's early decision 2 to regular decision within the next month or 2 or are we stuck with what ever we push submit on? My thinking was right now he pushes submit on early decision 2 and we have a bit of time to figure things out more we change it to regular before the ED2 deadline anyway?

on college B’s website it states… If you submit your Common Application as a regular decision candidate and later decide to convert to Early Decision, please contact our office so that we may email a copy of the special ED Agreement Form that is used in such cases.
But I don’t see anything about converting it from an ED to a RD so I’m thinking that isn’t cool and I should just do RD for now and if we decide in the next month or so convert it to ED2?
