ED and scholarships

so, if any of you are applying ED and just might apply for a scholarship after you send the fin aid application forms, what is your answer to the question about listing the foundations you are applying for fin aid? what if I leave it blank and afterwards apply for a scholarship? will it be illegal? because I'm not sure I'm going to apply, and I'm even less sure I'm going to get any scholarship.

As an international student, you can not deal with the scenario of "might" as most schools are not need blind to international students so you ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process. Even with ED, here will be an expectation at many schools that if admitted you/your family have the funds to pay.

If the school ask if you about listing the foundations which you are applying for aid, you should list them if you have indeed applied. If you do not put it in and based on your family resources, you do not have the money, you will be knocking your own self out of the box as many financial aid departments are going ot be well versed in scholarships for international students and what it takes to obtain one.

yes, but what I am afraid of is the fact that I will not receive the scholarship and then will not be able to pay the difference.

Then you should definitely not be applying to ED schools, and you need to look at schools that would be affordable to you as an international student. Regardless of where you are accepted, unless you attend a school that is meeting 100% of your demonstrated need, unless you can prove that you have the funds, you willnot get a visa to study in the u.s.
