-Taken the most rigorous courses after freshman year including 6 sciences (Physics Chem Bio AP Chem AP Bio and AP Physics C) normally a student takes four, very rarely a student takes five and I am the only kid in my class of 1000 taking 6.

-I have also each year taken a class before school to fit more majors than normal into my schedule.
-Recomendations- One from my Intro bio teacher who also taught my AP bio class amazing rec. One is from American History teacher which will be good but not great and one more.

What college at CMU would you be applying ED to? You can only choose one.
I would be a nueroscience major so idk which that falls under the website is very confusing about it
Is it true that they dont take into account freshman year bc it raises my UW GPA to a 3.71 amd my W to a 4.51
And i would be applying to the Mellon College of science
They may say that they don’t take freshman grades into account, but since they are in your file regardless, I would count on CMU still looking at them. If you have indeed really improved your grades since then, it shouldn’t be as much of a problem, but CMU will still see that GPA.
Your stats look good, but it’s hard to tell for sure without seeing your math and science scores. A 31 is a little bit low, in my opinion, especially since your GPA is also a little low. I would make sure that your math and science scores on the ACT and SAT IIs are high, because those are the most relevant to your major.
You definitely have a shot, but I know people who have applied ED to Mellon College with grades and scores pretty close to yours after showing a lot of interest in the school, and getting rejected. If you have time, try to get the ACT up to a 33+ if possible, because that could make a difference, and you didn’t mention SAT II’s (subject tests), so make sure to do those if you haven’t. You need a math and a science.
My math ACT is a 32 and my science is a 34.
For the Mellon College of Science, the average ACT math score is a 34 with a composite score of 33 for those accepted. The average class rank of those accepted is the top 3% with a GPA of 3.86 unweighted. You’re pretty close to these scores, but it’s a competitive school to get into. Your best bet would be to retake the ACT for a higher score, get fantastic scores on the subject tests, and show interest in the school by visiting and, if you think you would interview well, doing an interview with the office of admissions. That plus a good essay on why you want to attend CMU would give you a good shot.
Chances of getting into Carnegie Mellon?
I want to go either biomedical engineering or genetics.
