<p>It's surprising to hear that the GSP referrals are getting notices already. It's very early for that. The E.D. agreement is not binding if your student is referred to GSP. What will happen is that the student is invited to either come in for an interview or it's done by phone, basically for the NYU rep to explain GSP, then a decision has to be made, yes or no by the student.</p>
<p>GSP is the general studies program. Most referrals are CAS applicants whose stats are just not quite enough to get them into CAS. If they accept GSP, they go into a two year program, where if they maintain a certain gpa they will be granted entrance into CAS in junior year. It's a small percentage who are referred to GSP and in past years, one common thread in those referred was that their SAT scores tended to be in the 1200's. That may change year by year, though. In any case, if you've been referred to GSP, it's not so much a rejection, as it is a bit of a different acceptance. :)</p>
