<p>I agree with rishav. If I get into an IIT, I will seriously re-consider going to any other place. My dratted problem is that the reply date for US colleges is May 1st and JEE adv isn’t until June. I’ll hate to choose.</p>

<p>I think solution is to pay the deposit and start the process. You will gain time and after that apply for VISA etc and decide to go only after JEE results are out. This way maximum exposure is enrolment deposit plus housing deposit but you have a back up plan. You should choose US degree above another college other than IIT/BITS (Pilani).</p>

<p>@himanshu- Well, grad school’s a priority here. An undergraduate degree from IIT is pretty under-rated in my opinion. I do plan to do my post-graduation in the US. The only thing that makes me want to go now is the idea that I may not get the same offers I’m getting now. Again, I’m not choosing either over the other. I just want to keep my choices open and I don’t think it’s a very clear “this>other” scenario. Maybe I’m just being weird. 
Plus, I’m not awesome like you guys. I have this nagging fear I won’t be able to keep up at an Ivy. Being in the bottom half of my class is a frightening prospect. Then again, same goes for an IIT. o.o Great, you got me even more scared. This is all your fault. :P</p>
