Why doesn’t Berkeley offer an EA/ED program?
Why should it?
None of the UC’s offer ED or EA and I agree why should they?
Even Cal Poly SLO dropped EA.
Cal Poly SLO had ED not EA.
My bad - they had early SOMETHING that I know they no longer have.
ED/EA deadline usually around Nov. 15, RD around Jan 15.
UC is in between, Dec 1st, on the early side. The decision date, March 1st, earlier than most RD. (end of march)
@f2000sa: OP was asking about UC Berkeley specifically and they only have RD with the majority of decisions coming out at the end of March. High stat/Regents and Chancellor scholarship applicants can get early decisions in February. Not sure where you got the Dec 1 information considering the application deadline is November 30th.
@f2000sa I thought that the decision date was the last Friday of March (29th this year). Am I mistaken?
@gkalman: You are correct in that UCB’s decision date is at the end of March. Not sure what @f2000sa is taking about in their post?
Sorry about the confusion, the dates are not accurate, Decision date is by March 1st. application deadline is Nov. 30
Historically, UCB decision dates for most frosh applicants were in late March (not March 1), although candidates for Regents’ scholarships effectively know earlier that they are admitted.
maybe UCs should have like a “top choice” option on your application
a lot of my friends wanted to go to UCLA but got denied and went to berkeley instead
@Gandalf1414: Many years ago (In the 1980’s if believe) the UC’s had you list your top 3 choices for admission.
