I was recently accepted ED and received my tentative financial aid. This of course was only calculated with the CSS profile because the FAFSA was not available yet. When I fill out my fafsa, does that include more aid outside of the institutional grants I already received? Would this include the pell grant? Thanks!</p>

<p>If you are and your EFC is low (under 5000 or so), then you’d get a Pell Grant up to 5500. Did your FA package give any mention at about possible fed aid?</p>
<p>Don’t know if once you’re awarded a Pell Grant, the school may reduce its own grant by the same amount.</p>
<p>I would guess that once you file the FAFSA if you are eligible for any federal aid other than an unsubsidized federal loan you would receive an updated finaid report…and mom2 is correct there is always the possibility the college would subtract that from grants. If you think you might be Pell eligible you can and should call the college and ask how they would handle this so you have a pretty clear picture of what your costs will actually be.</p>

My EFC is 0, so I guess I would qualify for the Pell grant. I’ll ask my guidance counselor if they subtract this from my total aid.</p>
<p>It would be much better to call or e-mail the college and ask. Your guidance counselor may not know the correct answer. You have been accepted ED so the financial aid office will answer your question I suspect.</p>
