I do have 2 B’s for this semester that I’m sure will impact my chances a lot. I’m trying to increase them.
I would appreciate any advice or help! Also, any resources to prepare for AP and SAT. This has been my dream university since the 6th grade, and while it’s not the end of the world, I truly hope to get in.
I’m not sure if you have thought about summer programs yet (and I don’t know where you are located), but doing a summer program might be a good experience for you and could help emphasize your interest in a particular area. (although maybe your internship is summer?) There are threads on summer programs here and I would lean towards to ones that are more selective since I think the colleges are aware of the ones that are open to all who have the $$. If that is not an option, maybe enroll in a summer class at a local university. I’m not sure of your financial status, but some colleges will offer financial aid for summer classes.
There are threads on this forum that will provide links to test prep.
Good luck!
I just got into JHU this year, and am likely committing.
Here’s a thing I didn’t fully realize until just this month: no stats, no essay, no recommendation is “likely” “more likely” or “less likely” to get you in.
There’s too many teachers who write like Maya Angelou for their students, too many rich alumni, too many kids with 1600SATs to predict whether you, a candidate who is similar and yet so different than all the rest, will get in. I’ve learned that instead of focusing on the goal or the dream, I just keep trying to improve my system of working and learning. Because in the end, no matter what college I got into, if I was a better person today than I was yesterday, I always win. No matter what.
Hope that alleviates some stress. Addio
