ED regrets?

I'm writing an article for a class and am wondering if anyone has (or knows someone who has) applied ED and regretted it afterwards due to financial aid, disliking the college, or any other reason.

You can leave a comment or PM me, but I will need to talk to whoever it is over email or on the phone.

Thank you so very much.

(Or even if you couldn't go to the school because the package was just that bad.)

A friend of mine applied ED to Penn, was accepted, visited the school and thought it was Nerdsville, got out of her ED committment, and decided to go to Wisconsin.

How do you get out of an ED committment? Does that mean that she wouldn't be allowed to turn around and apply to Brown or Amherst and would only be allowed to apply to a state or less expensive school or is there more to it?

contact information please? if possible?

msot people that get out of ED commitment due to financial reasons, besides getting out of an ED is a really good way for that college to start hating your school/GC/applicants

I thought if you get out of an ED commitment, that meant you have to go to a state school, which WI is.

You get out of an ED commitment by saying "sorry, i'm not going to be able to afford your school" or "i'm not coming". It's not hard, and from what has happened at my school, a lot of people give these colleges too much credit when it comes to relationships with schools, they aren't going to stop accepting future students because one doesn't attend ED. You don't HAVE to go to a state school either, she also got into Boston U, Michigan, Penn State (granted 2 of those are state schools) and rejected from Georgetown which somewhat baffled me because G-Town was her first choice and she did EA there I believe.

oh well then she was out of the loop b/c if u appy ED u cannot apply EA

Well, she did. Honestly, colleges aren't going to know. If you think they share lists, you're paranoid. They have numerous other things to worry about.

Sorry, can't give the contact, she's out of the country.

ok but its not about finding out, its about integrity. sounds like this girl wouldnt have been a good fit anyhow.
