Daughter received her acceptance Saturday. We were surprised as we weren't expecting to hear anything until the middle of the month. She is ecstatic.

Congratulations, I wish my d had an ED acceptance, but we will taking our chances in the RD pool for financial aid sake. I bet it’s nice to have the decision made!

Good luck to your daughter in RD 4yorkshiremen. It’s a great relief already knowing where D2 will be attending after waiting until mid-April for D1. If it had not been for our experience with the older sister we would probably not have gone the ED route this time for financial aid reasons. Although we’re not full-pay, we have a fairly good read on the costs that will be incurred at F&M, enough at least to have given D2 the green light on applying ED.

Congrats to your D2 hudsonvalley51! F&M was one of S2’s favorites but he got in ED to his first choice. We did RD’s and EA’s with S1 and it is really nice having it done early with S2. I do agree that it is easier with the second kid to estimate the FA (if you are familiar with the school’s policies). This allows you to ‘take the risk’ especially if there is a clear first choice as it was with our S2. ED really needs to be used if there is a clear first choice.
