ED to Cornell, EA to 2-3 others

I've already applied ED to Cornell & EA to Boston College. I'm sending out another EA to Chicago this week, and it's possible that I may even apply to a 3rd EA school.

I know that I have to go to Cornell if I get in, my question is whether or not I'm allowed to go ED + 3 EA's. None of the EA's are SCEA.

If you're allowed to do 1 or 2 EAs, why can't you do 3? As long as, if you get into Cornell, you enroll here, you aren't breaking any rules, I don't believe.

So long as none of the EAs are SCEA you can apply to as many as you like although if you get accepted at Cornell you have to go there.

what are all the schools you are considering "EA"

I read once that that sort of thing is at least frowned upon...early decision is really supposed to be for people who really want to go somewhere over everywhere else, no matter what, not for people who just may not want to wait until March or April to find out where they are going to college. I wouldn't do it personally.

en contraire, that's exactly what EA is for

yeah, too bad Cornell doesn't have early action, and seeming how we are in a Cornell forum, I didn't think it was necessary to even talk about it. If you don't like it...blame Canada.

That's exactly what I am doing - ED to cornell and EA to BC.
Cornell is definitely my no.1 choice, though.
good luck

ya too bad he wasn't asking if he can ED to 3 schools. Of course he will to go to Cornell if he gets accepts, that's why hes applying ED.

Sheesh, some people.
