ED vs. RD- What does Cornell focus on during each round?

I posted this in another forum in CC, but I would like some opinions from people in this forum as well. I read from a website (Not sure whether it was a credible source or not) that during the ED round, adcoms focus more on an applicant's GPA and test scores than they do on other parts of their application. The explanation provided was that they use the ED applicants in order to ensure that they will be able to maintain their college's rankings for the subsequent year. Can anyone verify this? I mailed my application to Cornell today so I'm especially curious about the differences between ED and RD and what the adcoms focus on during each round.

oh i hope that's not true. GPA is the only weak park of my application and I'm sending in my application tomorrow.

through analyzing all the past class threads, I noticed for the Hotel school they focus a lot more on test scores and GPA than work experience during ED- opposite for RD/ after deferral.
