<p>I went to visit a friend at Vandy after getting in RD. They all acted like I was super smart because I got in RD versus ED. Why is this?</p>
<p>The acceptance rate for ED is higher than that for RD. I don’t know if the records of the accepted students are any different, though.</p>
<p>RD is a much bigger pool, and for a smaller amount of seats in the class (since about 1/3 have been filled by EDI + EDII), so it should, in theory, be more competitive and thus more difficult to get in.</p>
<p>Obviously not necessarily true, but makes sense logically.</p>
<p>it is VERY true. two kids from my school who applied ED and were accepted are not so smart. the one’s accepted RD are top of the class, usually ivy-league caliber students. there is a degree of truth to that statement.</p>
