ED...where should I apply?!? Please help!

These are my top schools...JHU, Duke, and UNC Chapel Hill
Which school should I apply ED too...or are my stats to mediocre to be considered for any of these colleges...and just apply ED to UT Austin..even though I'm pretty sure I can get in without ED?

Go ED to your favorite. Don't apply ED to a state school because your stuff will get in for sure.

^^ Agreed.

Do you think I have a chance if I apply ED for Duke?

UNC ED is not an option. They dropped ED a couple of years ago.

If you can't decide then apply RD to each of them. UNC is EA, btw.

What's the breakdown of your SAT I?

A 2200 is good, but if you have more strength in the writing part, Duke and JHU aren't considering the writing part much this year. Assuming your strength leans towards math judging by your excellent SAT II score, I would recommend deciding whether or not you're going for the JHU or Duke atmosphere and letting that decide for you.

This is not the way to approach ED. ED is for people who have a distinct first choice, you shouldn't be doing it just because you think it gives you a better chance. If you don't have a particular favorite, just save it all for RD.

Duke is my favorite ^_^...I visited the campus my sophomore summer and the atmosphere is great. The students seem great too. They do a lot of research and have exemplary science programs and thats what I'm going for. I want to major in biology..then go to med school.

I haven't visited JHU, but I know their pre-med program is the best of the best.

JHU is gorgeous! The city isn't that great, though. I haven't been to Duke, but the pictures look good. By definition, ED means you apply to that school and that school only, so if there's even the tinsiest possibility that you prefer somewhere else, I wouldn't do it at all. EA programs are okay, though (that's why I'm applying SCEA to Yale; I have some options open in case I can't afford it). I'm applying JHU regular decision, but I'd rather save it for medical school....

Cool! We have the same scores all mixed up. Mine were MathII 780, Lit. 780 and Bio 770.
