Ed

whats the difference between ED1 and ED2? Does it matter if you apply ED2 rather than ED1 (does it hurt your chances?)

If i want my first semester senior grades to go on my transcript which one should i apply?

BU does not have ED1 and ED2. For schools that do offer these options, both are binding early decision.

BU DOES have ED 1 and 2 this year. If you want first semester grades in, ED 2 is probably your best choice. I don't know if it hurts your chances though. I think applying ED really shows your interest, and in the schools point of view, they think: wow, if we accept this kid, we are guaranteed his money.... lol. Plus if you get in, you get first choice in housing.Just be sure that BU is the place for you. And good luck!

thanks for the replies

but does anyone know if it hurt your chances if you apply ED2 instead of ED1?

IMO, applying ED2 will not hurt your chances, because even if it is called ED2, it is as good as ED1 coz if you're acepted, the college knows you'll definitely enroll. and applying ED (1 or 2) shows that you're very interested in the college. both EDs are a win win situation for the applicant and the college, so no, i dont think you'll be hurting your chances by applying ED2.

I didn't know BU had changed its ED policy. Does anyone know why?

yay! thanks bruno

kinshasa: no idea, maybe to give kids more of a 'buffer' when applying (in reference to time)

What is the difference between ED1 and ED2? We didn't have all thses options when I was applying to schools...lol

If BU is your first choice apply ED 1. Tufts has the Ed 1 & 2 process and it seems that some kids that apply Ed 1 to, say Harvard, and are rejected then may apply ED 2 to Tufts a month later so iED 2 is often, though not always, the kids second choice school. With such competetive admissions, even if the difference between ED 1 & 2 is negligible, you still should consider going with ED 1 if you are sure BU is your first choice.
