Does anybody know what the ED1 acceptance rate was and out of how many applicants?? Thanks!

One can only approximate at this point. The number of applicants is said to be the same as last year, but with less people admitted due to the new Posse Miami Cohort. Last year, 94/429 were admitted. Posse chapters at Pomona are 10 students each. So 84/429 would be a 19.6% acceptance rate.

Thank you!!!

The figure quoted above is not entirely exact. 173 admits / 930 ED applicants is the correct number.

The inclusion of all Posse and Questbridge applicants is making comparisons to prior years really hard. One might look at the ED numbers with or without Posse and QB and reach very different conclusion – statistically speaking.

I emailed the Pomona admissions office. When I emailed them, they haven’t include the Posse Miami statistics yet, but so far, 19.7% of ED1 students had been admitted. This does include Posse Chicago and QuestBridge students

I think some 22-25 apply through Posse Chicago and some 300 apply through QuestBridge. It’s not clear how many were accepted but someone on the FB group of 2019 said 140 were accepted. 10 of those through Posse, 13 of those through QuestBridge, so 117 students through ED1. For a 19.7% admit rate with 140 admits, ~710 applied through these three processes. That makes the ED1 acceptance rate in this assumption 117/(710-300-25) = 30.4% admit rate.

Again, one can only approximate at this point, and it’s most likely that these numbers are wildly off, but I am pretty confident that the ED1 acceptance rate is brought down due to a high number of QuestBridge applicants.
