does anyone know what the official notification date is for early decision I applicants? I know it’s highly unlikely that they actually release decisions on the 15th, because they’ve always done it the Friday before the 15th… but that’s actually in a week!
I definitely don’t want to email/call the admissions office anytime soon to solely ask them when they’re releasing decisions… as that might be a bit rude, but just wondering if anyone had any idea!
tbh I just wanted to post this discussion because I’m literally SO anxious 24/7 and am hoping to find some sort of comfort from others who are on the same page as me.

I am SO with you!!! I also applied ED1 and am waiting extremely anxiously for the result… I keep telling myself though it’s highly unlikely for me to be admitted, miracles may happen. I was told by friends that results come on the 15th, which is apparently the same date as two years ago.
Regardless, I simultanously want and dont want to know the result. I love Pomona whole-heartedly and will shatter for a denial… But, best of luck to you!!! 
@dbear33 The “simultaneous want and don’t want to know” feeling is exactly what I’m feeling right now too! I was checking the associate dean of admissions twitter page since he tweeted last year when he started reading apps and when they started committee but this year he’s been pretty quiet about it all. It has been on a Friday in the past, but that would make it the 9th which is so soon! Keeping in mind I’ve seen on past threads that Pomona will ask for progress reports from some applicants about a week before the notification date, but I haven’t heard of anyone that’s gotten one yet. @goingsomewhereeh omg I have literally been checking his twitter multiple times a day for at least a week now. and he hasn’t hinted at anything!!! this wait is actually killing me… I just really hope results are released on a Friday again this year. that would mean it’s in a week, which is kind of insane! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU GUYS !! we’re all in this together fingers crossed that we all get some good news in a week or two!!

While past performance does not guarantee future results, current performance suggests that they are once again aiming to get the decisions out by the Friday before the 15th (so yes, this coming Friday).
@otisp thanks for the info! I really hope they’re able to release decisions by this Friday. I don’t know if it’s humanely possible for me to wait any longer hahaha
the associate dean of admissions tweeted 5 hours ago saying, My favorite thing I’ve seen in ED1 committee so far is a student taking “online gym"
so they have for sure started reviewing applications. EEEEK
however, it says “so far” meaning they haven’t gone thru everything yet???
I am 100% overanalyzing this HAHA I’m just really anxious and looking for any signs that say decisions will be released this Friday
@indiahyland They usually start committee around 5 days before the notification date, based on his tweets last year. So assuming D-Day is Friday, they would’ve started Monday and that would make them in the middle of the committee process thus accounting for the “so far.” They usually finish up committee by the day beforeish? I think? So I feel really hopeful that decisions will be released this Friday.

If Pomona operates like similar colleges, most of the apps that go to a committee (or subcommittee) are the ones that are borderline and/or where there is a wide disparity between the readers’ scores. During ED1, if there is a “final” committee, it probably doesn’t last more than a day or two.

If committee met yesterday, based on past years they appear to be on track for Friday.

@worried0824 in the past, they’ve never sent an email to notify applicants of when they’re releasing results… but a few applicants have gotten requests for their quarter grades! which means they’re most likely releasing results this Friday. aka IN 2 DAYS. (in the past, they’ve usually released results around 2 days after the request for quarter grades)
Good Luck to everyone biting their nails right now. Remember if you don’t get that coveted letter of admission, but rather are deferred, don’t despair. Stay hopeful. My DS got deferred but accepted in the regular decision round.
if results do come out this friday, does anyone know what time??? also please specify what time zone. FINGERS CROSSED THAT WE ALL GET SOME GOOD NEWS (IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS POSSIBLY???)
Hi @indiahyland , last year the emails came out around 5pm PST. Someone had posted on this College Confidential Pomona ED1 Forum from last year that Joel had tweeted (aka the big hint) , and sure enough, the email notices were distro’d.
