So I’m pretty new to this but I’ve been reading quite a few old threads about people anxiously awaiting results for Pomona and other schools. I applied to Pomona College under ED II and I was wondering if anyone else here has. I haven’t found any threads for this year’s ED II so I guess I’m starting one (please send me a link if there already is one). I figure we can share updates on when results are going to come out, share stats, and have some sort of support system for those who don’t get accepted. hahaha (internally crying). Thanks!!
I have not received anything except for the portal yet. It is claimed that students admitted will receive a tracking number for the decision mailed through FedEx and I want to know that at this point has anyone received that tracking number?
I’m confused and the wait is eating me!

I’ve been semi-obsessively checking the portal and my email. I called Pomona with a question last week and they told me that ED II decisions would be out this week. No specific dates or times were given, but someone on CC told me decisions usually come out on Friday evenings, so that’s what I’m expecting.
What’s this tracking number business, @WJZHXOlive?
I also have been checking the portal, but there’s nothing new on there. Do they also email you the decision or is it solely by Fedex? Knowing that’s it’s coming out this week makes me so nervous…
@thedowneaster The point is that pomona mail different decisions in different ways. If you get admitted, they will mail you through FedEx and consequently you will receive a tracking number. If you are not admitted, they will mail through ordinary mail which is slower and without tracking number. I am not sure about what I just said but it is said that this is the case.
I was an ED1 applicant; ED2 decisions will most likely be released February 12 at 5PM Pacific. Decisions will be found on the portal.
The Pomona website says ED2 decisions will be released on 15th Feb. I called them to confirm this and they said all applicants will be sent an email with instructions on how to access the portal, and notification date is 15th. But the website said ED 1 notification date was 15th December and it came out earlier. In fact, the past few Pomona decisions have come out on a Friday, and 12th Feb is a Friday. I’m too nervous. What are the chances that the decision is released on the 12th?

@collegegege, I think they’re going to tell people that the 15th is the day because that’s the absolute latest they could send out decisions. They don’t want to say “Yup, it’ll be the 12th this year!” because if for some reason something goes awry and they aren’t able to get the decisions out until Monday, then they’ve just disappointed people. By the same token, if they are able to come out with decisions earlier than the 15th, they’ve surprised us all and everyone’s happy. While there is a chance that we really won’t hear back until Monday, it’s a pretty safe bet based on the c/o 2019’s and this year’s ED I results that we will get our results tomorrow evening. The admissions office is just playing it safe.
I was admitted ED1, yes the decisions will probably be out on Friday. They always release them on Fridays. But if you want updates you might wanna follow the associate dean on Twitter, his name’s Joel Hart. He tweeted updates about when decisions were coming out for ED1

Tip from a parent from last year. Just start checking your portal at 5:00 pm PST. Don’t worry about emails.Just check your portal and watch this thread to see if people start posting results. I’m pretty sure all the email says is check your portal for your result, anyway.

What is “MY Portal”? Should we have gotten an email or something in the past giving us information about this?
When you submitted your Pomona application, you should have received an email from the college with a link to your portal. The portal is simply a page with a list of all the documents you submitted (teacher recs, ED agreement, test scores, etc.) and it has check marks by the things Pomona has received and X’s by the ones they haven’t gotten yet. It is just a place for you to check up with your application status. This is where decisions will be delivered to us.
Look through your emails from Pomona. If you never got one with your portal information, I would contact Pomona.
