ED1 Thread! (You know you are thinking about it!)

It says they don’t have enough info to calculate my aid… but I sent in everything I need… what is the problem?

Thanks guys, but its not that bad. Who knows, I might get into a better college! Anyways congratulations to all who were accepted.

i had the same problem with there not being enough info… i contacted fin aid office today and they told me exactly what i was missing – which wasn’t 100% clear on the checklist. just give them a call, should be fine

I will not be attending Hamilton next year. Good luck to everyone who does, it is a wonderful school!

Wait mathemagician1 how can you not attend? isn’t ed binding?

it’s binding, but you can get out of it if you can’t afford it. i honestly can’t afford it, i wish i could. i was counting on ~$25k efc, but they essentially added the net worth of our small business to the efc making me a no-need :(

accepted! class of 2015!!!

Guys, join the Hamilton College Class of 2015 group on FaceBook! I’m eager to meet everyone!

mathemagician, so sorry to hear that. there’s no way they can give you anything? =/

I called and they were very cold. They said no, that’s our policy. They’re treating it like it’s a large corporation, not a small business with 6 employees :/

That makes me nervous, mathemagician, as my father owns a small business as well.

I’m sorry about your situation, that’s not fair at all. If my
financial aid comes back the same way, I’ll have to give
them a piece of my mind for the both of us. :(

I hope it works out better for you than it did for me. Please keep me updated on your situation.

no news yet as to my financial aid, but I will be attending regarless of tremendus student loans. :-D

Good luck man. I can’t take on $215,000 in debt, plus interest. I have two siblings that both attend to attend college, and my parents cosigning on a loan that big will affect their ability to get loans for their own education.

Best of luck, Hamilton is an amazing school.
