eeks common app question! asap please.

the common app site says: "Special note about online supplements: If you elect to have multiple versions of your Common Application, please be sure to submit your supplement using the Common App version with which you want it affiliated. If you have not yet identified which version of the Common App it should be connected to, then you should wait to submit until that time."

However, i already sent my boston college supplement and my middlebury preapp using the old commonapp version.. :( when i had sent them i had not yet created an alternate version..i would like to send the alternate/newer commonapp version to bc and middlebury.. for both bc and middlebury, the supplements were done using the college's site/account on the college site..not a supplement form on the common app site..you know how some colleges' supplements are done on the common app site..
so does that mean that the supplement isnt actually directly affiliated to the commonapp and i can just send the newer/alternate common app version even though i sent the supplements using the old commonapversion?

oh and i have not yet sent the actual common app part to bc and middlebury yet. just sent supplements so far

sorry about the confusing question!

If you didn't send the supplements through CommonApp, then you are fine. You say you "already sent my boston college supplement and my middlebury preapp using the old commonapp version," but if you submitted the supplements independent from CommonApp, then you wouldn't have "used" any CommonApp version at all.

(I made the mistake of submitting the supplement through CommonApp before changing to the new version of the main CommonApp, in which case, there's nothing that can be done. Moral of the story is: go over EVERYTHING before you submit ANYTHING.)

eeks. theres some confusion here.
i mean i clicked the supplement links in my commonapp for bc and middlebury..
but it led me to the college's account site..
you know how some supplements are forms on the common app but some supplements are done on the college's specific college forms/account..

If you already submitted something to the school, you cannot submit it again, using that version or an alternate version.

The best you can do is mail them a new version and ask to have it replace the original. However, it is probable that this won't happen.

Keep the original and don't sweat it.
