EFC 11k! Will I be eligible for cal grant??

Hi please help me ! My EFC ran up to 11k and I already know I don’t qualify for Pell Grant. That is what scares me because I don’t know what I will do besides take loans. Does anyone know if I qualify for CAL GRANT.

Has anyone ever receive cal grant with a high EFC.
Thanks!!!

Cal Grant doesn’t necessarily have a set EFC, it is calculated using set income and asset ceilings. Here are the ceilings for a new applicant in 2015-2016: http://www.csac.ca.gov/facts/2015-16_income_and_asset_ceilings_for_new_applicants.pdf

If you meet those requirements and submitted both the FAFSA and your GPA by March 2nd, you should be eligible. I’m assuming you are currently a high school senior?

@kgos16‌ haha thanks for your help!! I am a transfer student to UCSB this coming september. I am so worried I won’t qualify for Cal Grant. I already submitted my Cal grant applications. I wonder if ill make it to be eligable for it!

What is your family AGI? I believe the Calgrant has a maximum for that…and you also have to have financial need at your college.

@thumper1‌ does your family AGI include my income as well? if so it will be about 94k

Yes, the I part of AGI stands for Income. See the link in the first response. It has the income ceilings by family size that qualify.
