So after adding our 2015 tax form information and correcting it with IRS, my brother came out with and EFC of 0. I came out with and EFC of 1321. My brother nor I do not work or anything else and we checked to see that every single thing was exactly for the same… I was wondering why our scores are completely different because he’s getting 1,200 more in pell grant than I am?
Did you work? Do you have assets? If not, and only your same parent’s info was used, you have made an error on one of the forms.
Did you each put in that there is one other student in college?
We both don’t work or have assets. What affect does it have to say there is 2 students in college rather than 1?
It will decrease the EFC.
That would make a big difference.
It shows on my SAR that it does not have a number. Could that be the reason why mine is higher?
Yes, that is probably the reason. You didn’t answer the question so it assumed you are the only one in college.
So I’m trying to change the blank for number of students attending college 2016-2017 but apparently, the box is whited out and I’m not able to put in the correct number? What do I do?
if you keep going to the ‘next’ panel it should give you the option to make the change.
Did you click on “make corrections”
