<p>This happened with my family, too. I didn’t find out I couldn’t go until just before I was supposed to leave. I ended up going to community college for two years and then transferring, however I did still need a cosigner to transfer. He ought to be able to get stafford loans to go to the CC with no money out of pocket and that buys you two years to figure the rest out, maybe by then he’ll want to go someplace cheaper (though for me it went the other way around.)</p>
