Egypt university loses fight to ban fully veiled student

Glad stuff like this doesn't happen here.

<a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070609/wl_mideast_afp/egyptislamuniversity_070609171539%5B/url%5D">http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070609/wl_mideast_afp/egyptislamuniversity_070609171539</a></p>

Stuff like what? Attempts to ban certain religious practices?

^^Yeah, basically. I originally thought that the university mandated that women wear the niqab, but they actually wanted to prohibit its wearing, and I suppose I disagree with that as well.

Okay, thanks. I asked for clarification because I imagine people have mixed reactions to this story.

I believe that tn the US there have been kerfuffles about whether or not some states will issue drivers licenses to women who want their photos taken in a veil, but that may not rise to the same level as denying someone an education.
