I'm currently undecided and I was leaning toward those two majors. I was wondering if anyone's in them and any thoughts would be great. Also I'm not entirely sure the differences between them, I looked at the class requirements and they seem very similar. So I'm wondering which is better in terms of versatility and job placement?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone had double majored while in engineering, and how easy it is to do in 4 years. I'm coming in with about 40 credits.

Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering are very similar. The big difference is that Computer Engineering focuses on computer architecture and has more programming components. As an electrical engineer you might have courses in power engineering which usually are not relevant for computer engineering.

Both majors are versatile enough to be good for job placement and you could probably get hired for the same job with either of the two majors.

A double major is possible, it usually takes 1 extra year of courses but since you have a lot of entering credit you could do it in 4 years. however, before doing two B.S. degrees, think a bout whether it might be more valuable to take a Masters degree in that final year. Your university might offer co-terminal degrees which allow you to finish bothe a B.S. and a masters in 5 (in your case 4) years.

Good luck!
