Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Double Major?

Hey guys.

I'm going to be attending Stanford as a member of the Class of 2019. My main interest is definitely Computer Science, but at the same time, I really want to learn about Electrical Engineering because I'm looking to work and further my education in an area that's centered around the synthesis of the two fields.

Most people I've talked to about this tell me to major in Computer Science and minor in Electrical Engineering. However, I think I definitely want to learn Electrical Engineering beyond what's offered in the minor. So, naturally, I'm considering double major in CS and EE.

My question is - is it feasible? Can current students tell me about the work load? I'll have 43 units to transfer from AP exams. The reason I want to know about the work load is because I also want to take several Math courses as a student there.

Any ideas?

@narmanc. Last year we had @Data10 (regularly contribute) who I believe actually graduated with EE and CS double major (and was also a premed) who was able to give great insight into that combination. He is a founder of a company I believe. You may want to PM him for more insight. Our K2 tells me two friends initially came in freshmen year planning to do what you are thinking of doing…one has decided to continue with EE/CS double major and the other CS with as many EE/hardware courses…and both are busy involved in fun ECs, planning internships (they are constantly being recruited), and floating ideas about future “startups”…
